SOUTHERN BOUNTY SERIES 101

Southern Bounty Series is forging the path for the off-road industry’s most challenging extreme sport – mud racing. Born as a brand in November of 2020, interest and support in Southern Bounty Series (SBS) skyrocketed in just a few short months.

At its core, SBS is the ultimate test of man and machine as racers push the boundaries of their ATV and UTV equipment and their own willpower through 200 foot long, 6-foot-deep specially designed mud pits to see who takes home the bounty payouts of nearly $10,000 from each event plus our Championship points payouts. Altogether over $70,000 of bounty payouts will be on the line this season.

The series consists of three classes based on a competitor’s tire size, Unlimited Tire Class (42.5″ and up), Medium Tire Class (32.5″ – 42″), and the Small Tire Class (32″ and below).
SBS Events are action-packed races against the clock, with every competitor looking to score the fastest possible time through the designated mud pit for their class. When the run begins, drivers have up to five minutes to complete their timed pass through the mud holes triggering the electronic eye at the finish line that stops their time. If a competitor cannot complete their run through the mud, they’re scored based on the distance they’ve covered by the end of their run. At the end of the racing, drivers are scored in their class first by the fastest completed pass, next by distance traveled for those drivers that didn’t make it through their pit.

PERFORMANCE DRIVEN

SBS is the perfect showcase for aftermarket components designed for any mud enthusiast. Competitors use various driving techniques and aftermarket or custom-built technology to conquer the mud, which is constantly changing with every run. Machines in all classes must adhere to technical regulations that promote and reward innovation, engineering, and raw power.

Sportsmanship and fair competition are the foundations of what Southern Bounty Series is all about. SBS has assembled a top-notch team of dedicated Pit Officials that monitor, score, and referee every run during the event. Our team of Pit Officials works to ensure racers follow all sporting regulations during their runs and competitive integrity is never compromised.
